InFocus has a new mini computer Kangaroo: Doubles in size, also possibilities

The Kangaroo was one of our elected officials in the selection of mini-computers we did not long ago, it is a Windows product tiny with good specifications, the other side of the pond is working very well, and little by little we know better in these parts. Infocus, the company that creates, has a new model called Kangaroo Mobile Desktop Pro.

The Pro model is again a computer Windows 10 than in the North American country sells for $ 199. It is much more capable than the original Kangaroo, dating from October 2015, but is also a bit less portable. The reason is an addition called Dock Pro, which opens up the doors to greater connectivity, plus leave room for a 2.5 inch hard drive.

At home they call as “mobile desktop” which really is the best description: We are basically at a computer that can do everything, but you need to connect mouse, keyboard and monitor.

Dock Pro: A disk and more ports

Dock Pro offers a USB 3.0 port, a pair of USB 2.0, VGA, HDMI ports, and Ethernet port. There is also room for a connector for audio and hard disk. The original model fell short in all these things, but half thick, and costs almost half.

What’s in there? As a chipset Intel Atom x5-Z8500 of Cherry Trail family, accompanied by a couple of gigabytes of RAM and 32GB of internal memory. As for wireless connectivity, the computer uses ac WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0.

The full dimensions of the computer are 124 x 80.5 x 12.9 mm, while the Dock Pro are 171 x 86 x 32.2 mm. The weight of the assembly, including cable, is 688 grams.

Battery and fingerprint sensor

A feature that makes it different from other mini computers with Windows is the built -in battery – 2200 mAh – capable of offering a range of nearly four hours with moderate use.

The other striking thing is the presence of a fingerprint sensor digital on the side, allowing access to the computer and Windows Hello recognition. The third curiosity is that they have developed an application that turns an iPad into a screen for your computer.
