Who remembers Longhorn? This was the lost Microsoft project that never came to see the light

After the launch of Windows XP in Microsoft began tinkering with a project called Longhorn. Which theoretically would be a minor update to its operating system it became a particularly ambitious development.

In fact it was so ambitious ever came to see the light (at least not in final version): Microsoft had to abandon many of the innovative ideas that sought to carry out this operating system and turned it into a version that would end up being one of the most criticized and hated of Microsoft: Windows Vista. Now a user makes us rediscover that lost project.

Voice attendees want to escape the cell. The first to show what they can offer these solutions has been Amazon with its Echo, a product that has recently seen two new additions and has become an extremely versatile solution for users who go beyond the basic wizard and begin to take advantage for tasks of all kinds.

That seems to have ignited the spark of a segment that continues to focus on the mobile but it also seems to want to start offering their chances on other devices. Manufacturers want to make the voice problem. They want to talk to machines.

Professor of Communication at Stanford Clifford Nass explained already in 2011 on CNN,” it is a well established phenomenon that the human brain is developed to like female voices.”

For months now that Microsoft have been working on supporting more and more technologies to squeeze the maximum field of video games in which they want to become absolute protagonists.

A new build of Windows 10 comes loaded with new features in this regard: the games of the new Universal Windows Platform (UWP) may already have support for technologies FreeSync AMD and NVIDIA G-Sync; plus another striking option among gamers: unlocking the frame rates of those titles.

The first games to take advantage of these features will be ‘Gears of War: Ultimate Edition’ and ‘Forza Motorsport 6: Apex’, and Microsoft expect other developers to provide such capability in securities that are part of the universal platform.

Opera includes a free VPN in your browser

The segment browsers is somewhat less moved a few years ago, but there is still moving forward with interesting concepts and one of the last to give a twist to these applications has been Opera. The developer version of the browser Opera integrates a free unlimited VPN, which is a useful solution for lovers and privacy advocates … and blocked by region, course content.

Many services are trying to offer a VPN to access those same advantages, but here we must tread eye. In the past we talked about the problems that can generate free use VPNs so have to watch closely Opera. For now the truth is that this capability works swimmingly: these are our impressions.

What advice would you give to someone starting out programming after more than 5 years doing?

The world of programming is based on continuous learning. Engage in software development requires always be aware of the new, of what is to come. Conformism and stop learning every day Aboca programmers to work exile. Sooner or later it comes. Any newcomer to the world of programming should be aware of it.

That said, we have all wondered, to a lesser or greater extent, if we retrain as programmers. Or more dramatically, if we get out of our comfort zone apparent, i.e. learn something radically new or even try another job prospects.

Always keep in mind the question is it time to retrain?

Ask this question from time to time is essential. Sometimes we do not realize that excessive workload prevents us from assessing the quality or type of work we do. We do not see how they have emerged other technologies or paradigms of work. Although our professional staff say that we are Senior we have not evolved as such.

Google releases “Save to Google”, extension to save Web content

In a completely silent Google today publishes the Chrome Web Store, as reported by Engadget a new extension that is called “Save to Google.” What is it? You know Pocket, the service “Read it Later” that allows you to save desktop side and mobile any information that you do not want to lose, and you have not the time to check out immediately?
